Supporting ADFAC
At the core of ADFAC’s mission is the concept of neighbors helping neighbors. With ADFAC headquartered in the heart of its service area, ADFAC’s clients, donors and employees are all members of the larger community. There are many ways in which you can help ADFAC fulfill its mission:
Join our Annual Giving campaign
Each spring, ADFAC holds the Annual Giving campaign, an event that encourages local citizens to make a donation of money or volunteer time to support ADFAC. Although the campaign is held in spring, you may make an Annual Giving donation at any time.
Volunteer your time
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year. Volunteers are used to assist with office tasks, seasonal programs and for volunteer home repair projects.
Honor Gifts
Pay tribute to the special people in your life by making a donation to ADFAC in their honor. ADFAC’s honor gifts are the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or holiday. When you make an honor gift, your loved one will receive a personalized honor card with information about how the donation will help people in our community. Support a specific program or project
Are young children close to your heart? Do you want to make sure that all families have warm homes in the winter? Do you believe that safe and decent housing should be available to everyone in your community?
ADFAC operates over 20 individual programs or projects that address the diverse needs faced by the local low-income community. Visit the Household Assistance Program and Appalachian Housing Partners sections of the website. If you see a program that you would like to specifically support, note the name of the program in the memo line of your check.
Provide general support
You can also make a non-specific donation to ADFAC. ADFAC will allocate the donation where it is most needed.
Support the SAFE and ASSIST programs
If you are a customer of City of Oak Ridge Utilities, Oak Ridge Utility District (ORUD), Clinton Utilities Board (CUB) and/or Powell-Clinch Utilities District, you can add a monthly or one-time donation to your utilities bill to support the SAFE and ASSIST utilities assistance programs.
